Audioslave was always destined for mainstream success.  The merging sounds of Rage Against the Machine’s instrumentals and Chris Cornell’s / Soundgarden’s moody vocals and styling.  And it was okay right off the bat.  But it wasnt until the third album that things felt cohesive.  This was my favorite track

The instrumentals just find the pocket and sit in it.  Funky, rocky, somewhere in between both bands.  Chris Cornell felt less moody, attacking the vocals, in shorter, punchier takes.  This was the sweet spot for this band.
