Quotes for Men to Live by #18

Success is a funny thing.  Dreams are as well.  HDT made an interesting point about sticking to your chosen path.  Sometimes a big part of success is simply not giving up.

“If one advances confidently in the direction of one’s dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
–Henry David Thoreau

A big part of what I think Thoreau is getting at, is that the path to success is littered with dreams that have been given up on.  If you have a dream, and you let adversity get you down and you quit, you have given up on that success.  Part of success is simply being about to ride out the waves versus everyone else; stick to your guns, hold fast to your goals.  Success comes to those who continue to work for it.
